Alan Stoupel

2023 Violin D

Alan Stoupel, 13, is a student of Christian Tremblay in Performance Academy Program at the Pre-College division of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. He is a member of the Peabody Young Artist Orchestra, for which he was chosen as principal second violin for the 2021-2022 season. He has received top honors at the 2022 Rockville Competition and the 2019 and 2020 Peabody Preparatory Concerto Competitions. In 2021, Alan performed live on Deutschland Funk as the blind violinist in the opera “Mozart and Salieri” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. In 2022 Alan was selected for the Fran G. Zarubick Honors Recital as a winner of the Spring Honors Competition. Alan is also an accomplished percussionist. As a result of winning the annual concerto competition, Alan performed the Saint-Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso as marimba soloist with the Peabody Wind and Percussion Ensemble in February 2023.
