Ana Vera Backscheider began studying violin as part of her compulsory kindergarten curriculum at Redlands in Sydney, Australia in 2012. Ana is currently an honors Sophomore at Walnut Hills High School. She is a first violinist in the Walnut Hills Chamber Orchestra, and Varsity rower who recently placed second at nationals in the u17-8+ category . Ana Vera also performs in the CCM Starling Program, directed by Kurt Sassmannshaus. Ana has studied at the University of Louisville Suzuki Institute with Dr Tim Durbin, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and Alan Rafferty’s Ascent Festival. When not practicing, Ana loves to draw and play with her Labrador, Birdie.
