Anastasia Wilson fell in love with the cello in her public school program at the age of nine. Shortly after that, she began taking lessons at the Omaha Conservatory of Music and she joined the Omaha Area Youth Orchestras. Her primary instructors were Gregory Clinton of the Omaha Symphony, and Gregory Beaver of the former Chiara Quartet. Notable masterclasses and limited lessons include those with Robert deMaine, Zuill Bailey, Joshua Roman, Paul Katz, and Michael Reynolds.
In 2017, Anastasia won the Kearney Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Award. She was also a featured soloist with the Omaha Symphony during the Celebrate Creativity event. She has participated in the Soloist Program at the Philadelphia International Music Festival, Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall, Luzerne Music Center, Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute, and the Castleman Quartet Program.
In 2019, Anastasia attended the Eastman Immersion Program at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, studying with professor emeritus, Alan Harris. She is currently pursuing her Undergraduate Performance degree there under the tutelage of Professor Joseph Johnson. An avid chamber music player, Anastasia is a founding member of the Phantasia Quartet. As an ensemble, the quartet has given numerous performance-based presentations in various schools and libraries in the Rochester community. Additionally, they also had the privilege of performing in the Chamber Music Intensive recital as a part of the Eastman School of Music’s Chamber Music Extravaganza.
In her spare time, Anastasia enjoys partaking in her hobbies, such as video gaming and board gaming. She also enjoys traveling, and recently spent a year living in Japan where she taught English to students of all ages.
