Anna Macintosh

20222023 Cello

Anna Macintosh, from Columbus, Ohio, began her cello studies in 2004 with Alice Ann O’Neil and then joined the studio of Jill Wright Crist in 2005. In 2016, she began her studies with Dr. Melissa Kraut at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she acquired a degree in cello performance and a minor in Suzuki Pedagogy. During her time at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Anna performed in masterclasses with Mihai Tetel (2019), Susan Moses (2020), and Jessica Lee (2021). This Fall, Anna will be attending the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with Alan Rafferty as she begins to work towards her Master’s degree. This past summer (2021), Anna had the privilege of attending the Sitka Cello Seminar in Sitka, Alaska, with Mr. Zuill Bailey and Dr. Melissa Kraut. As a student of the festival, she enjoyed performing for the community, playing live music with colleagues, and overall adoring the many natural beauties of Alaska.
Along with her passion for music, Anna also has a strong fondness for environmental conservation. This coming fall, she looks forward to beginning her Graduate studies with Mr. Rafferty in Cincinnati, while continuing to advocate for a clean earth.
