Annelise Ossi is a twelfth-grade violinist who has been part of Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra (JSYO) for eight seasons. She pursues violin studies under the mentorship of Ms. Adelya Nartadjieva, after five years of study with Ms. Melissa Barrett.
Annelise played in the First Coast Suzuki Players string ensemble from age 6 to 11. She then joined JSYO’s Repertory Orchestra where she developed deep appreciation for music. After a year, she achieved Concertmaster for the season. She then advanced to JSYO’s Philharmonic Orchestra where she has served different positions including Concertmaster, Assistant Concertmaster, and Principal Second Violins the past six years. She was invited to perform solo in the Jacksonville Symphony 2023 Gala annual fundraiser.
Annelise has been a top prize winner of national and international competitions earning three concert performances at Carnegie Hall. She is a winner of the 2023 and 2024 OPUS Music Competition State level. Earlier this year, she was the first-winner of the NFSO Concerto Competition where she had the opportunity to solo with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, and was also the first-place winner of the JSYO Young Artists Competition giving her the opportunity to solo with the Jacksonville Symphony.
Through music, Annelise has dedicated many years of service to the community, including a fundraising project to revitalize downtown Jacksonville and a quartet performance in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. hosted by the Jacksonville City Council. She has also played the violin with her church organist and choir since the age of 7. Annelise plans to study a double major in Science and Violin Performance at Vanderbilt University. Her other interests include horseback riding and biking with her family.
