Autumn Rinaldi

2024 Cello Festival

Fifteen-year old cellist Autumn Rinaldi, originally from New York City and currently of Indian Hill, Ohio, is a rising sophomore at Cincinnati Country Day School. Autumn studies privately with Dr. Sarah Kim, and also considers Alan Rafferty and Hans Jorgen Jensen influential teachers and mentors. To date, Autumn has had the opportunity to play in solo masterclasses for esteemed cellists Richard Aaron, Sterling Elliott, and Astrid Schween, as well as in chamber masterclasses led by members of the Aizuri, Brentano and Cavani Quartets.

 

Autumn has attended various camps and festivals, including Meadowmount School of Music (2023; returning in 2024), Ascent International Cello Festival (2023), Greenwood Chamber Music Camp Senior Division (2022), and Chamber Music Connection Summer Festival (2021). Autumn has been recognized in a number of solo competitions including, most recently: the 2023 OhioMTA State Buckeye Auditions (1st Place), the 2023 Jack and Lucille Wonnell Memorial Concerto Competition Senior Division (2nd Place) and the 2024 Cleveland Cello Society Scholarship Competition Senior Division (1st Place). For the past four years, Autumn has been a member of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestras, serving as Assistant Principal Cellist of its Philharmonic Ensemble this past season. As a passionate chamber musician, Autumn has been part of various ensembles over the years, and is an active member of the Chamber Music Connection in Columbus, Ohio.

 

Outside of cello, Autumn’s interests include Shakespearean acting and music composition.
