Catherine Yang, 17, is from Zionsville, Indiana, and will attend Walnut Hill School for the Arts in the fall semester. Catherine began playing the cello at age 10, and she has studied with Austin Huntington for 3 years. Catherine has served as the principal cellist of the Indianapolis Youth Symphony Orchestra for 3 years, and she was selected as the principal cellist for the 2025 Indiana All-State Orchestra. This past summer, she played in master classes for Amir Eldan and Susan Babini. Outside of cello, Catherine enjoys spending time with family, her two dogs and two cats, traveling, exploring cuisine, and running.
