Ellie Millette is 18 years old and has been studying violin with Lee Taylor since she was six years old. During her freshman year of high school, Ellie participated in the Emory Youth Chamber Program (EYCP) coached by the Vega quartet. In the following summer, Ellie was invited to the opening year of the Ursus String Camp at the University of Tennessee where she took master classes and lessons from Dr. Ching-Yi Lin and Dr. Wesley Baldwin. Here she was invited to perform the third movement of Bruch’s Violin Concerto in an honors recital as well as perform in community outreach ensembles of the Telemann Concerto for Four Violins. The following year, Ellie attended the Summer Strings Program at the Jacob’s School of Music where she studied under faculty including Pasha Sabouri, Mimi Zweig, and the Erinys Quartet. Recently, Ellie attended the Philadelphia International Music Festival where she took lessons and masterclasses from members of the Philadelphia Orchestra such as Kimberly Fisher and Dara Morales. Ellie has been a member of the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra since 2022 and recently finished her final concert cycle. Ellie is a recent graduate of Artios Academies, completing a senior project recital of Bach Sonata No. 1 in g minor. She graduated as Valedictorian and with both a Fine Arts Major diploma and Excellence in Music award for her education in violin, voice, and piano. When not participating in music, Ellie enjoys long distance running, reading classic literature, and ballet.
