As an emerging performing violinist, Emily Cassandra Sandoval has performed in numerous performances, including the 2024 Ascent International Chamber Music Festival, the 2023 Dreamers Arts Festival in South Florida, where she performed with the renowned duo Black Violin, and the production of Handel’s Messiah alongside the UNF Chamber Singers and the Lawson Ensemble. Emily also enjoys performing at local venues such as the NSU Art Museum in Downtown Fort Lauderdale and the Haitian Day Festival Art Galleries in Pompano Beach.
As an advocate for new music, Emily participates in various chamber groups and ensembles such as the NuMix Ensemble at the University of North Florida where she regularly performs works written in the 21st century. Emily also participates in compositions aimed toward social issues such as inclusion, human rights, and social justice.
Growing up in a family of musicians fluent in English and Spanish, Emily is passionate about being a role model for young musicians within the Latin American community and dreams of continuing to inspire future generations through her performances and dedication to her craft.
A recipient of multiple accolades, Emily was recently named a winner of the 2024 UNF Orchestra Concerto Competition and a recipient of the D.A.R.T. Foundation Scholarship and Tonsfeldt Music Scholarship, respectively. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance at the University of North Florida under the guidance of Professor Melissa Barrett.
