Emma picked up the cello at the age of 12 after playing the piano for nearly seven years and never looked back. She is a rising Junior at Miami University where she studies under Dr. Sarah Kim.
Before attending Miami University, she was a pre-college student of Hans Jørgen Jensen of Northwestern University and has taken additional substantive lessons with Andrea LaFranzo, Oleksa Mycyk, Sihao He, Ruslan Biryukov, Tom Landschoot, Sterling Elliott, and Wei Yu. She performed in solo masterclasses for Richard Aaron, Melissa Kraut, John Sharp, and Liba Schacht and has received substantive chamber music coaching from Mathias Tacke, Allan Dennis, and Charles Pikler. Further, she has participated in chamber masterclasses with Gerardo Ribeiro, Anna Burden, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Rebecca Fischer, and members of The Lincoln Trio. Emma has also attended various programs and festivals, including the International Academy of Music (Italy), Chicago Chamber Music Festival, Aronson Cello Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, and the Meadowmount School of Music.
Emma continues to grow in her performance studies along with her secondary Italian major at Miami University, where she receives maximum music department talent scholarships and other varying academic awards.
