Born and raised in China, Ge Ding earned her undergraduate degree in piano performance from the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. Ge won the Prize Scholarship at the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music as an undergraduate. She receives many awards, including the First Prize in the Singapore International Piano Competition and the First Prize in The 9th Asia Youth Festival with the “Chinese Composition” International Youth Piano Open Competition. After that, she continued to pursue a master’s degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studies with Kathryn Brown.
Ge Ding has her understanding of music from different periods. Her favorite composers are Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven because she could feel the tremendous spiritual power in their music. She believes the beauty and elegance of music appealed to her and finally help her find her value.
