Jackson Bai

2024 Cello Festival

Jackson Bai is currently a sophomore at Horace Mann School in New York City.  He has been playing cello since the age of six and studies with Troy Stuart and Alex Croxton.  Jackson has won the first or second prizes in several competitions such as the New York Laureate International Music Competition, the American Protégé International Concerto Competition, the Concert Artists International™ Competition, Charleston International Classical Music Competition and the Camerata Artists International Competition.

In prior summers, Jackson has participated in the Heifetz International Music Institute, Junior Division, the Summer Chamber Music Intensive (SCMI) of New York and Third Street Music Summer Intensive Chamber Program.  Currently, Jackson is a member of the New York Youth Symphony Chamber Music Program, Camerata Youth Orchestra of New Jersey, Horace Mann Advanced String Sinfonietta and the HarMonia ensemble, a student led string ensemble comprised of select Horace Mann high school students.  Jackson enjoys playing in HarMonia’s annual fundraising concerts for the Summer on the Hill program which provides academic enrichment for high-achieving, underserved students from the Bronx and Harlem in New York.
