Josephine Kim, age 20, started her musical journey at the age of 6 by playing both the piano and violin. Josephine enjoys performing, competing in competitions, and participating in chamber groups and orchestras. Her accomplishments include placing first in the LA regionals ASTA competition, LANSUM International Music Festival Competition, Pasadena Exchange Club Search for Talent competition, and the John C. Walker Music competition. She served as concertmaster of the West Ranch High School Chamber Orchestra. Josephine has been a member of the California All-State Orchestra for 5 years as 2nd violin principal chair and has been a part of the Chamber Music Institute at the Colburn Conservatory of Music. She has performed with her piano quartet on the Sunday’s Live Program broadcasted on the KUSC Radio. Other accomplishments include completing the Certificate of Merit Advanced Level with honors and being chosen to perform at the MTAC State Convention. Josephine has high aspirations for her future in music and plans to develop and gain experience by working at her full potential for God’s glory. Josephine currently studies with Vadim Gluzman at the Peabody Institute.
