Julia Ungvari

2024 Cello Festival

Julia Ungvari is a dedicated musician with a deep love for both cello and piano. She began her musical journey at the age of six, guided by renowned mentors like Dr. Karen Khanagov, Tomasz Zieba, and Dr. Angelika Machnik-Jones. Over the years, her technical skills blossomed, thanks to their tutelage. Currently a rising senior at Casady High School, she actively engages in orchestral and chamber ensembles, including the Casady Symphonic Orchestra and the Vivaldi Chamber Group. Additionally, she plays with Oklahoma Youth Orchestra since 2020, which had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in 2023. Julia’s pursuit of musical excellence has taken her to international programs such as the Krakow Cello Festival, the University of Oklahoma Summer String Academy, and the Crescendo Summer Institute in Hungary, where she studied with Drs. Jonathan Ruck, Carl Donakowski and Samuel Coppin. Her achievements include securing first prize in the Oklahoma Philharmonics Young Musician Competition and being recognized as a national finalist in the Music Teachers National Association’s Competition. Fluent in English, Hungarian, and Spanish, Julia aspires to contribute to the global music community while steadfastly advancing on her musical journey.
