2024 Cello Festival

Embarking on her musical journey at seven, Armenian-born cellist Lilya Arustamyan is now a dedicated student pursuing her bachelor’s degree at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Lilya’s musical vision is a testament to her creativity and innovation. She aspires to create a unique masterpiece of cello sound by blending traditional heritage with modern influences to offer a genuinely captivating musical experience.

Grand prize winner of the Renaissance International competition, she attended various music festivals, including the Aria International Summer Academy, Harvard Music Festival, and Montecito International Music Festival.

A former member of the Denver Young Artist Orchestra, Lilya had the privilege of playing side-by-side with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra in the Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver and with the Prague Conservatoire String Orchestra in Rudolfinum in Prague.

Lilya’s musical experience significantly impacted after performing on the stages of the Mechanics Hall, Jorden Hall, and Symphony Hall in Boston, Grosser Saal of the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Slovak Radio Hall in Bratislava, and Musik und Theater Concert Hall of the Vienna Boys Choir in Vienna.

Lilya dreams about developing the ability to convey the emotional depth of composition and elucidate its broader cultural context and universal human resonance.
