Madalyn Clements

2024 Violin D

Madalyn Clements is 17 years old and resides in West Bloomfield, Michigan. She became interested in the violin when she attended a community orchestra performance at age 7. She started taking violin lessons at age 8 and continues to study with the same teacher, Sharon Rothstein. Her violin has taken her on adventures around the country for vacations, violin camps, and family weddings. Her favorite memory is attending a Perlman Music Program concert in Sarasota, FL where she got to meet Itzhak Perlman and receive his signature. She has had the privilege of playing in masterclasses for many exceptional musicians, including, Sibbi Bernhardsson, Grigory Kalinovsky, Desirée Ruhstrat, Danielle Belen, Annie Fullard, and Charlie Castleman. One of Madalyn’s favorite aspects of playing violin is the collaboration of playing chamber music. She began playing with her studio’s children’s chamber group as soon as she could read the music. Now she looks forward to the weekends she can play chamber music with her peers and professional musicians. She has attended Interlochen summer camps, Credo, Bravo! Summer Festival, Preludio Violin Program, Castleman Quartet Program, and Conservatory Audition Workshop. Madalyn is planning on pursuing a violin major.
