Marianna Narita, praised for her “outstanding musicality” and “spirited performances” (by the Ohio Senate), is an American violinist from Cincinnati, Ohio. Within the last two years, she has made solo appearances in the Osaka International Music Competition (as a finalist), Friends International Violin Academy, and Carnegie Hall, including the legendary Stern Auditorium. At the start of Covid-19, she founded a program with St. Marianna Hospital in Kawasaki, Japan, where she delivers her music to frontline workers and patients hospitalized with Covid-19. She is currently studying with violinist Joel Smirnoff, renowned musician at The Juilliard School, and Yoojin Jang, who she sees in Rochester. She has also been awarded numerous merit-based scholarships towards her attendance at the University of Rochester, where she’ll be a sophomore this fall.
