Max Salzinger, a rising junior at The Hotchkiss School, has played the cello since the age of six. He was a member of the New World Youth Symphony Orchestra from 5th-8th grade, serving as principal cellist in 7th and 8th grades. During the Summer of 2022, Max attended Interlochen Arts Camp on a full merit scholarship, rotating as a section player and principal cellist of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra. At Interlochen, Max also was a finalist in the concerto competition and was the singular recipient of the Fine Arts Award in Cello. Most recently, Max won the Senior String Performance division of the MTNA Connecticut competition. Max currently studies under Chungsun Kim and serves as principal cellist of the Hotchkiss Orchestra.
