Hi I’m Nicole Lee and I’m a rising junior at HSPVA in Houston, Texas. I have played piano for ten years, violin for nine years, and viola for a few weeks. I love chamber music and music theory. I am a violinist in the Tritone Trio (a student formed chamber group consisting of two violinists and one cellist). We enjoy rehearsing together and playing at gigs around Texas!
I am a Texas Music Scholar and made the Symphony Orchestra of TMEA Region 23 this school year. I am also a 1st violinist in the Philharmonia Orchestra of the Houston Youth Symphony. In addition to playing violin, I like being a music mentor. I was a High School Mentor in the ECHO 2024 Summer Camp where I mentored middle schoolers in orchestra, chamber music, etc.
I am the Vice President of the Music for Change Foundation Committee within the national non-profit 501(c)(3) Music as Medicine (MAM). MAM’s main purpose is to spread the joy and healing power of music throughout the community and the world. Some of MAM’s events include performing at hospitals, senior homes, schools, and beyond, hosting fundraiser concerts, starting new chapters around the nation, and more. One of our greatest accomplishments has been creating a musical extended day program at a local elementary school, where high schoolers (including me) create lessons/games and teach once every two weeks.
I am also the Regional Director of the Harris County Region of the Back to BACH Project (a global mission to make art forms more accessible to the youth). I am currently in the process of recruiting members and creating our first video production!
