Nrusingha Rath is studying violin performance as a first-year student at Waikato University with Prof Dr Lara Hall. He started his violin studies seven years ago with Mr Vesa-Matti Leppannen, the Concertmaster of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and is continuing to study with him. He is also studying with Mr Andrew Beer, the Concertmaster of the Auckland Philharmonia. Nrusingha is a recipient of the Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship Award, the E Griego and L Switzer Scholarship Award and the Chris Tustain Scholarship Award.
