Ruth Conry

2024 Violin B

Ruth Conry is a rising Sophomore at the Schwob School of Music, and is originally from Duluth, Minnesota. She studies currently with Professor Sergiu Schwartz, and was a student of Sally O’Reilly’s at the University of Minnesota through high school. While studying music at the University of Minnesota, Ruth also enjoyed taking French and Italian.

Ruth has performed in the JuniOrchestra di Santa Cecilia, as principal second violin and assistant concertmaster in the University of Minnesota Symphony Orchestra, assistant concertmaster of the Schwob Philharmonic, and concertmaster of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony’s “Symphony”. She has performed as a soloist with the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, the Golden Valley Orchestra twice, and the University of Minnesota Campus Orchestra twice as well. Ruth has played in masterclasses and performed at the Bowdoin International Music Festival, Pienza International Music Festival, and the Mozarteum Sommerakademie, among others. Her chamber coaches have included Dr. Esther Park, Wendy Warner, Ray Shows, Nancy Oliveros, and members of the Ying Quartet.

Outside of music, Ruth loves learning new languages, backpacking, and cooking.
