Ryan Han

2023 Cello Festival

Cellist, Ryan Han, is currently pursuing a dual degree in Cello Performance and Physics at DePaul University. For the past 3 years, his studies in cello have been under the tutelage of Stephen Balderston, the former assistant principal of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Prior to his collegiate study, he was a member of the Chicago Young Symphony Orchestra and belonged to the Ruggieri Cello Choir directed by Ronald Chambers. This past year, he was awarded the Illinois Space Grant Scholarship for his research in STEM.

In the previous summer, Ryan attended the National Orchestral Institute in Maryland under the baton of Maron Alsop, where he studied under orchestral players, like Ilya Finkelshteyn and Yumi Kendall. At DePaul School of Music, Ryan is a frequent performer in the DePaul Chamber Showcase, as well as a member of the DePaul Symphony Orchestra who perform at the Symphony Center in Chicago.
