Solei Summer Trinidad

2024 Violin D

Solei Summer Trinidad, a native New Yorker and first-generation Dominican American violinist, is set to enter her fourth year of violin performance studies at the prestigious Mannes School of Music, where she studies under the esteemed Ann Setzer. Her musical journey began at the age of eight through Orchestrating Dreams: a transformative music education program in New York City inspired by El Sistema, an organization dedicated to making music accessible. Solei’s unwavering love for her craft has lead her to take on an administrative role at Orchestrating Dreams, where she also mentors young students. Her summers have been filled with enriching experiences at music festivals such as National Take a Stand and YOLA National Festival, where she performed at the Walt Disney Concert Hall under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel. Additionally, she has honed her skills at Longy School of Music’s Summer Academy in Boston, Massachusetts. Among her accolades, Solei is a recipient of the Warren Wyrick Scholarship, which provided her the invaluable opportunity to receive lessons and work closely with New Jersey Symphony concertmaster, Eric Wyrick. In her spare time, Solei enjoys exploring her beloved New York City, embracing its vibrant culture and culinary delights as an avid food critic. Her love for her city and its endless opportunities for adventure and discovery continually inspire her both personally and professionally.
