Troye Jirka

2024 Cello Festival

Troye is entering his fourth year at OSU studying cello performance under Dr. Meredith Blecha-Wells. Since he began playing the cello almost 9 years ago, he has performed in ensembles such as the Tulsa Youth Symphony Orchestra, the OKMEA All State Orchestra, and is now the principal cellist of the Oklahoma State University Symphony Orchestra. Troye has played in masterclasses for Carter Brey, Andres Diaz, Wesley Baldwin, Daniel Ketter, Ka-Wai Yu, Ida Mercer, and Philip Borter. While at OSU, he has also participated in several chamber music ensembles, including a string trio, vocal trio, and a piano quintet, as well as serving as a student conductor for the Oklahoma State University Youth and Community Orchestra. Troye plans to pursue further musical studies by attending graduate school for cello performance.
