Taiwan native Chian-Yi Tsai was the 2nd place winner of the Academy of Taiwan String Violin competition in 2019, and 3rd place in the National Taiwan Violin competition. He also played violin which was made by G. B. Guadagnini in the CHIMEI museum as a guest artist. During college, he was the concertmaster in the school’s orchestra. Furthermore, he was taught by James Buswell, Christophe Boulier, Michael Ma, and Naiyuan Hu in masterclasses.
Tsai currently studies with Grigory Kalinovsky and is pursuing a master’s degree at Indiana University Jacobs school of music as a full-tuition scholarship recipient.
