Violet Lorish, 17, started her music experience at age 9. She currently studies with Lee Taylor, violinist of the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra and Tallahassee Symphony. She has participated in masterclasses under Dr. Shannon Thomas, Assistant Professor of Violin at Florida State University. Violet is an active member of the Emory Youth Symphony, and has taken part in the Emory Youth Chamber Music Program and the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has spent previous summers studying at Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Franklin Pond Chamber Music Program, and the Atlanta Chamber Music Festival where she served as concertmaster. For two years, Violet studied improvisation and electric violin techniques with composer, violinist, and producer Paul Mercer. With Mercer, Violet recorded music for Juliet Landau’s film, “A Place Among The Dead.”
