Brahms: Tenderness and Fire

Experience an evening of sweeping emotion and masterful collaboration, anchored by two of Brahms’ most beloved chamber works. The brooding intensity of the Piano Quartet in C minor reveals a composer of passion and depth, while the radiant String Sextet in G major unfolds with warmth, lyricism, and expansive beauty.

Framing these masterpieces is Stacey Garrop’s Steel Dagger, a gripping contemporary work that brings a sharp, modern edge to the program. Making her Hudson debut is new faculty member and Queen Elisabeth Competition Gold Medalist Stella Chen alongside Ascent’s distinguished faculty, this program bridges past and present in a powerful exploration of drama, intimacy, and musical storytelling.
