 A Celebration of American Music, Folk Traditions, and European Influence 

As the United States approaches the 250th anniversary of its founding, this program explores the rich musical tapestry that has shaped American identity. From folk songs carried across generations to works inspired by cultural exchange and national ideals, these compositions reflect the many voices that contribute to the American story. The program traces a path through American folk traditions, African American spirituals, immigrant influences, and contemporary reflections on the nation’s past and future.   

Featuring music of John Adams & Libby Larsen, the program concludes with Dvorak’s iconic “American” String quartet, composed during his time in America.
